RIS server: Says CD-image is wrong version, and it isn't (for Riprep)!

Hi,

Trying to make a Riprep image of an WinXP installation with Office XP
included.

First i put an Windows XP cd-image on the server, 5.1 build 2600 Danish.

Next i made an unattended install to a workstation.

Installed rest of the programs i wanted and ran Riprep.
(Q313069_W2K_SPL_x86_en.EXE is applied to server)

Now it tells me this:
"The RIS server to which you are attemting to post this installation does
not contain the correct CD-based image. The version of the CD-based image on
the server must match the version of the system you are attemting to image
(Version 5.1 build 2600, Language Danish). Please either select a different
RIS server to post this installation to or add the corresponding CD-based
image to the current RIS server."

Now when i check the image on the RIS server it is only listed as OS version
5.1

What do I do now ? I only have this one Windows XP cd, from which i made the
initial image. ??

Thx in advance

Hmm

After doing a search on google it looks like it is because i applied the
lastest hotfixes to the installation :/

Gonna try again without doing so.

Looks like you may have found the problem. You should consider
slipstreaming your cd-based image and use RISETUP to make your image XPSP1
or 1a.
Hi Scott

Thx for your advice.
The CD-based image is allready slipstreamed with SP1.

However I did apply all available patches from windowsupdate, so it must
somehow have updated NTOSKRNL.EXE.
(and why did I do that u may ask, when i have a SUS server running ;)

Now i made a new install withouth applying the patches, and everything works
perfect.
All workstations are being automatically updated through the SUS server one
minute after boot, so all is good.
