Hi WYC,

Please tell me if I misunderstand the situation:

1. You can RIS a pc when you select the XPSP1 Dutch cd-based image.

2. When you RIPREP the same machine you RIS'd in step 1, you see the error
described below every time. It occurs at what time? After copying all
files? After the first reboot? Please let me know.

3. Does the error occur on all workstations or just one type?

4. Are your clients on the same subnet as the RIS server?

5. Have you adjusted your DHCP options as described in this article? (You
should not have them set):

Using Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol Options 60, 66, 67 to Direct PXE
Clients to RIS Servers May Fail
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;259670

6. Have you updated to the latest RIPREP tool?:

Hi WYC,

We don't want to adjust the DHCP option settings, I was just curious if you
had changed them since they force the client to a particular location for
the files.

Any errors recorded in the event log on the server? I've seen this before
and the server had events recorded:

Source: BINLSVC
Event ID: 1101

Probably something to do with parsing an inf file (driver).

Please post the exact error message.

We might also try updating the client that has just been RIS'd with the
latest drivers for the Intel nic before RIPREPing. I would try the adaptor
located here (Intel ve):

(url ends in "=407")

Sorry Nic student, the last few days I was sick

There are really NO errors recorded in the event log on the server!

The only event is eventid 100
The Binl service succesfully created the computer object: ristest1 bij user: administrato

(No eventids 1101

I have updated the client that has just been RIS'd with th
latest drivers for the Intel nic ( i use the link you gave me) before RIPREPing.

I ripreped the pc and still the errors

Ihave tried this one too (intel site), it's a old one i thin

INF for 10/100 Adapters in Windows* XP [E100B325.EXE] (320KB
4.1.100.1332 11/5/2003 Download
RIS-Specific INF files for use with Intel 10/100 Network Adapters on Windows* XP RIS images

Still the errors. Can anyone explain the errors?

Kind Regards

WY
