RIS and Windows XP SP2 Create Partition Problem

R

Robert

I've been building WINXP SP1a machines from a Windows 2003 RIS for
over a year without any problems. Wipe existing partitions with
delpart, do not create any new partitions, then connect to the RIS
server. It prompts me to create a partition during text-mode setup.

I created a new install package on the same RIS server for SP2 and
copied over the relevant parameters from the SP1a SIF file. No matter
what I do, setup insists on creating one large partition without even
prompting me. All other parameters in the SIF file are applied during
the build.

I tried changing some settings in the SIF file but nothing helps.
Searched TechNet and Google, came up blank. I tried creating the
partition with FDISK, but XP text-mode setup still repartitions and
formats the drive as a single partition.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
