RIS and Event ID 1054

Hi

Have recently added two 2k3 DC's to my network
(now 2 2k + 2 2k3 dcs)

Have FSMOs to one of the 2k3 DCs.

The two new 2k3 DCs are running DNS (one as SOA) and one of the already
existing 2k servers is as well.

All seems ok with existing machines, dcdiag and netdiag reveal no DNS
problems.

I have added RIS to the domain on one of the 2k3 DC's. The machine seems to
build quite happily. Can see the account that has been created for the
machine in ADUC under the computers folder.

However, I get a error 1054 in the Application Event Log

Windows cannot obtain the domain controller name for your computer network.
(The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. ).
Group Policy processing aborted.

In addition I also get an error 5719 in the sys event log
No Domain Controller is available for domain CONCORDE due to the following:

There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.
..

Make sure that the computer is connected to the network and try again. If
the problem persists, please contact your domain administrator.

As a result none of the policies seem to apply. Oddly enough I can logon to
the workstation to the domain and the logonserver variable is set to one of
my DC's when I check.

Am I missing something obvious? What should I check? Thanks in advance.

To add a little more to this. The problem is not evident if I build from
using a CD adding the machine to the network. Thus I can only think it is
the way that RIS joins the workstation to the network.

I do use the Identification section in the unattended ris answer file with
the domain name specified, the domain admin and password are also specified.

I have tried using or not the old style domain join options as well.
