RING RING sound when i click on anything in windows explorer & internet explorer

HELP!
i'm using windows 2000 and just recently out of nowhere
comes this RING! RING! sound when i click on anything in
my windows explorer and internet explorer. i've already
checked my sound scheme and ran spybot for any
spyware/addware programs and it didn't find anything. any
help would be greatly appreciated!!! thank you!!!
 
Go to your sounds in the control panel
save the sounds you have as Heather121303, or something
After change the scheme to one of the store bought ones
reboot and see it the ring-ring is changed.
