Rights to registry keys

I have been trying to figure out how to do this on a TS 2000 box.

give the group Full Control to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.QPG

I can do it on a TS 2003 but 2000 is different.

sorry this is probably a stupid question.

Any help is appreciated.

Which tool are you using to access the registry?
On Windows 2000, you have to use regedt32.exe to set security.

Thanks. New it would be a stupid question. I have always used regedit and
have never had to asign rights to reg keys before. I am trying a solution to
a quickbooks problem from your web page.

Thanks for the help.

Not a stupid question at all, Wayne. The fact that KB 141377 exists
proves that there is general confusion about regedit and regedt32.

Good luck with Quickbooks, and please repost if you find that you
need to make additional changes to the file system or the registry
to make QB work.
