The mouse is probably failing. You probably need a new mouse.

Meanwhile, there is a keyboard way to get right-click function if you have a
104-key keyboard. Once you have selected a file, press the Context Menu key
which is usually the third key to the right of the spacebar, between the
Windows key and the Ctrl key on the right side.
