Right click problem

[TheoCRM]

When I right click something, I get an hour glass and in
mostcases the "application" is "not responding". E.g. I
want to copy something in a folder, I highlight the
filename and right click .... result: Hourglass for a
long time and CTRL ALT Del shows "..... not responding".
What could cause that and how do I solve the problem?

Doesn't really address the subject header and problem explanation.
I get the same delay sometimes when right clicking a file in Windows
Explorer. (up to 30 seconds) while WinXP makes up it's mind to display the
right click menu. Bit frustrating when trying to rename individual camera
download pics from a group of 50.
WinXP SP1 on a Pentium4, 3.0Ghz with 512Mb ram.

I have the same (right click menu slow to show) problem with a PC fully
updated without SP2.
It's intermittent, but still frustrating.
