right click on mouse turns off open windows and refreshes screen

Re-installed windows xp pro last month. works ok except for when I right
click on an icon on the desktop or in an open window, all the open windows
turn off and the screen refreshes, can anyone help please.
 
Have you checked the right key assignment of your mouse in the mouse properties. Control Panel\Mouse
 
Sounds like either the mouse driver got corrupted, or the right click event
is set to some odd setting. I recommend installing the driver for you mouse
and setting the right click event back to default.
