Right click copy doesn't work

For some unknown reason, when I am in Windows explore and right click a data
file that I want to copy to another folder, nothing happens. This behaviour
just started today. Before today, when I did this operation, I would then
select the target folder and copy. Now, there is no response whatsoever
after right clicking the copy command.

Any help to repair this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry, I didn't state the problem correctly. Here is the problem. I right
click the Start button to open up the "directory" or whatever it is called,
then click on explore to open up that. Then when I find the file that I want
to copy, I click copy, but nothing happens.

Jackpine,

You say that you right-click a file, left-click Copy and nothing happens.

Well, nothing apparent WILL happen until you right click somewhere else and
then left-click Paste.

Alan, you are correct of course. My brain must have temporarily shut down
(at least I hope it's temporary), because although I have done the copy/paste
operation a million times, for whatever reason, when I did it today, I
totally forgot about the paste step. No wonder nothing happened! Thanks
anyways for pointing out the obvious.
