I have Vista Ultimate RC1 Build 5600.
There's two accounts, the Guest account and my sole user account which
has "Administrator" type.
Before I turned off "User Account Control" I was getting security
warnings and requests to run programs constantly! On boot up as AVG
anti-virus would check for updates. Every time I ran a program. I
could find no option to "remember this setting" or anything of the
like.
So, I turned off User Account Control. And I'm constantly reminded of
it!
I found the options for it to show the icon and not alert me, and do
neither.
I don't want it to not show me the icon or alert me in case other
security issues come up...but I want "User Account Control" off as a
normal setting so having the icon is annoying.
Is there some way IO can have User Accnt. Control on but not ask me if
I want to run everything, or have it off and not show the icon because
of that but display it in case of other secuirty issues?
(Also, I can't seen to select "Run as administrator" on anything
despite the admin turned on on my account. Related?)
Thanks for any feedback!!
