Revision/Change Bars

There used to be a feature of Word where you could make
changes to a document (that is, add or delete)and have a
revision/change bar appear to indicate where the
modification occurred. The user was also able to not have
the addition or deletion appear on the screen and the
printed version. The only thing that was displayed was
the revision/change bar. I don't find that feature in
Word 2002. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi CL,

For some reason, they took some of that functionality away from the user
interface in XP. It has been restored in 2003. With XP, you need to use a
macro to select the form of revision marking that your require.

In the visual basic editor, type Options followed by a period and you will
then get a list of Options to choose from such as

Options.DeletedTextMark.

If you select the option that you are interested in and then type an = sign,
you will see a list of the options available for that subject.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.
Hope this helps
