Reverting to Classic Theme

My PC can;t handle aero well, how do I go back to classic views?

Various notes I have collected on this:

Right click on the desktop. Select Personalize. Select Window Color &
Appearance. Then in the next screen, click the link near the bottom for
"Open classic appearance properties for more color options" Choose Windows
Classic or Standard.

Right click on the desktop. Select Personalize. Select Window Color &
Appearance. Select Appearance Settings. Then Effects. Only have ClearType
selected and checked. Uncheck the other two.

Right click on the desktop. Select Personalize. Select Mouse Properties.
Can uncheck Pointer Shadow.

Right click on My Computer icon. [For Vista there is another screen in the
way here.] Select Properties. Select Advanced tab. Click the Settings...
button in the Performance section. Click the "Adjust for best performance"
option button.
-> This I believe is also reachable on (maybe advanced?):
Right click on the desktop. Select Personalize. Select Window Color &
Appearance.

How to set the start menu back to Windows XP style:
CONTROL PANEL -> TASKBAR AND START MENU -> START MENU(tab) -> Classic Start
menu

Then here are some tips:
