Have a Dell laptop running Vista and Windows Media Player 11. Our school
runs a SafariMontage video server so we can show videos over the network (not
streaming from the internet). WMP11 will not play the videos -it stops and
goes back to the beginning after a few seconds. These videos work fine on XP
computers running WMP10. How do I revert to version 10 somehow on my Vista
laptop?

Thanks.

you cannot do that sorry.

its not wmp11 fault...

try disabling the antivirus and firewall for a moment and try again

if it still doesnt work guess what is the problem?

That's a good question Lynda,
I don't think Vista will let WMP10 install
as WMP11 is already marked inside registry.

google for:
open source windows media player

there are a couple which might work for you,
also there is a vistacodec package available
which may help with other formats.
