I have setup my new pc and made all my files private!

well i am the only one that logs on and have setup a password for myself.

i wish to now reverse this and have my files un-private, just in case my pc
goes down as my friend has just had his pc go down and he can not access any
files on his hard drive because he made them private.

i hope this does not happen to me, but would like to know how i can reverse
this just in case.

thank you

Making them private doesn't make them completely unavailable to others.
Anyone else who is administrator on the machine can access the files. For
info on how to take ownership of a private file or folder see the following
KB article:

To reverse making a folder private, right click on the folder in Windows
Explorer and select Properties. Go to the Sharing tab and remove the check
from "Make this folder private."
