REVERSE LOOKUP ZONE

L

Luis Jesus

Hi all,
I have one server as the Standard Primary and another
server as the Secondary. When I try to transfer from
master (the reverse lookup zone), it gives me the
following error: The DNS server encountered an error while
attempting to load the zone. The transfer of the zone
data from the master failed. Any ideais. The forward
lookup zone is transferring ok.
Thanks
LJ

As long as zone transfers are allowed, and the zone is spelled correctly and
network connectivity is established, then zone transfers just pretty much
work. You can try deleting it and re-creating it. If you have it set to
allow all, try to put in the specific IP address.

If going across a firewall, make sure that TCP + UDP 53 are allowed thru
between the two machines.
