reverse dns problem?

Hi Guys,

Got DNS our dedicated web server running pretty well, only one small
problem. When doing a trace route to our IP, the corresponding address is
shown as the address given to our server by the ISP.

Do I need a reverse DNS record to sort this ? If so, what form what the
record take ?

Cheers

Your ISP still owns the IP address and their DNS is still authoritative for
its reverse lookup.
If you want the IP to pint to a different host name then they will have to
create the PTR for you, or delegate the IP address to a DNS server that you
have Authority over.
