Return to the orignial text after following a cross-reference

I used to be able to click on a cross reference/hyperlink and go to another
section in the document, and then use a 'back button' to return to the text
where I started from. I don't see this button in Word 2003. Please help!
 
The Back button is still there in Word 2003. It's on the Web
toolbar.
