In ME and 2000, the other operating systems I use, I have an icon on my taskbar that lets me return to the desktop instead of minimizing all of the open windows. Is there a way to do that on XP?

Create a text file in Notepad as follows:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save it as Show Desktop.scf then drag it to the Quick launch
bar.

Create a shortcut on your desktop witht the following path then drag it to
your toolbar.

"C:\Documents and Settings\[yourusernamehere]\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop.scf"

Press Windows key +D

You can enable the "Show Desktop" icon on your Taskbar.
Go to the bar normally located on the bottom of your screen and right click
it. From the menu which appears, hover over the option called "Toolbars".
From Toolbars, another list of menu items will appear. Choose "Quick
Launch". The Quick Launch bar should now near the Start button on your
Taskbar. The "Show Desktop" button will be located inside the Quick Launch
bar.
