Retrieving Lost Docs

My computer shut down last night and something I thought was saved was not.
Usually I get a window down the left hand side with recoverable documents but
i did not. Any way to see those or find the doc? thx

AutoRecover files are temporary files created once a file has been saved in
case you experience something like you did. The fact that no recoverable
document showed up seems to indicate that the file was never saved.

On the extremely remote chance that something was saved, but just isn't
appearing when you open Word, check the path of the AutoRecover files in
Tools > Options, on the File Locations tab, then use Windows Explorer to
navigate to that folder and see if anything is there. Most likely,
unfortunately, there will be nothing there (except for something you have
worked on and saved today.
