I saved a word doc by mistake in a OLKF. How do I find it now?

I saved a word document (Save as) by mistake in a file called OLKF. Now I can
not locate the OLKF folder and open it so I can retrieve the word doc. When
I save another word doc it opens the window to OLKF and I can see the name of
the file I saves but can not get to it. I lost the original and this is the
only copy left. Please help. (word 2003)

If I recall correctly, the OLKF folder is the temporary folder used by
Outlook when opening an attachment directly from an email message - not an
especially good idea as you have discovered since it 1) can have unintended
consequences when you think you're saving changes to the attachment and you
really aren't, and 2) can have a less-than-desirable effect on future "Save
As" operations. Best practice is to always, *always*, ALWAYS save
attachments locally and open the saved copy.

OK, enough of the sermon. ;-D

By default, this folder is "hidden", which is probably why you're having
such a hard time finding it. Probably the easiest way to get to your file,
which you say you can see, is to search for it in Windows Explorer making
sure that you search hidden folders as well. The exact process for doing
this depends on your operating system, but it's pretty straight forward in
all OSs. Once you've found your file this way, you should be able to open it
directly from the search results. You should also be able to open the file
location by right-clicking on the file name and choosing the appropriate
command from the context menu, although you may have to configure Explorer
to allow you to see hidden folders to do this.
