Retaining formatting in imported Word 2007 docs

I want to import one Word 2007 document into another. The document I'm
importing has styles with the same name as in the target document. However,
the styles in the import document have different formatting. I want the
imported styles to retain their formatting without updating the styles in the
target document.

Does anyone know a way to do this?

This can't be done; you'll have to modify the names of the styles in either
source or target document.
