Style copies without formatting

I'm using the 2003 organizer to transfer styles from one document to another.
I've created 4 bullet styles. The new styles are added but none of the
formatting is retained, they are not bulleted at all, in fact they simply
show Normal+. All except 1 of them that is which comes out fine. They are
all based on the Normal style. I've tried renaming the similar styles in the
target document, no luck.

Copying numbered styles between documents can be tricky in Word. Note that
instead of copying the styles of document A into document B, you can insert
the text of document B into document A. Or, which might be the best
approach, create a template with the desired styles and then insert existing
documents into documents based on that template (this will give you the
desired formatting).
