Resume from Standy problem(s)

Kurt

My computer is setup such that when I put it into Standby
mode, the monitor/screen "goes to sleep" as well.
However, whenever I move the mouse and/or hit a key on
the keyboard, the harddrive comes out of Standby mode,
but the monitor/screen remains 'asleep.' My computer is
updated with the latest service packs.

Any thoughts?

Hey Kurt,

Sounds like a video card driver issue, I've seen posts on other sites that
claim that this can sometimes be fixed by changing the refresh frequency

control panel/display/settings/advanced/monitor

Change the frequency, but dont set it higher than the monitor specification.
If its a standard monitor it should be set to at least 75Hz, so you don't
get flicker, mine is set to 100Hz.

Does your monitor have its own driver, or are you using one of the default
windows xp drivers, either Default Monitor or Plug and Play Monitor.

What is the make and model of the monitor?

What is the make and model of the video card, or if your are using video
support on the motherboard, the make and model of motherboard.
