Resume from Sleep mode, and no sound?

I'm running Windows Vista using a creative soundblaster live value, and when
I resumed from sleep mode after only a few hours, my sound card has decided
it didn't want to reinitialize. The only way I can see to get my sound back
is to reboot. Any ideas as to why this might be, and how I might be able to
get it back when resuming from sleep without having to reboot?

That's too me a wierd situation, and I think a rare one, Jason, but my
instinct would be to just download a new driver--go to Soundblaster's site
and get the latest appropritate one. And if it's the same, no healthy
driver should have a problem resuming from sleep Vista or any other OS. If
that's a known issue, it sure has escaped me.

There is a Vista Update that was supposed to solve some of these resume from
Sleep problems. It doesn't work for everything, but make sure you have all
the Windows Updates.

I am having a similar problem. My computer was working like a charm and
suddenly, one night it started to fail. After putting my computer to sleep
then I still have sound but a very annoying very low resolution sound.
Everything sounds terrible. I have not tried yet the patches but this is very
weird to the point I am not using the sleep function any more.

Once I restart my computer, then the sounds get back to its normal 'state'.

Any ideas aside from the so mentioned patches???

Me too. My problem is that there is no sound at all when it comes out of
sleep. kb942364 doesn't help either :( I'm using 32-bit Home premium on a
compaq presario. I've updated my drivers and it still doesn't work. Help
