Resume from hibernation --logs off instead

Sometimes when I resume from hibernation, Vista displays the desktop's
background, with no icons or task bar, for a few moments, then switches
to the "logging off" screen, and shuts down. sigh...other times it will
resume normally.

BTW, I have Windows6.0-KB938979-x86 installed. Not sure if this problem
occurred before I install this "performance" (HA! --yeah, right!)
update. Also, I already searched the MS KB for info on this particular
issue--no results address resume resulting in logging off.

Any ideas, people??? Surely I can't be the only one having this issue
with Vista.
