i use remote desktop in windows xp pro alot. I want to know if there is a way
that if i am logged in as admin from a remote location to prevent local users
to log in if they do not have admin privlages. much help is appriciated.

afik this is actually the default setting on Windows XP. When a remote
session is running, a user at the local console will get the usual
"workstation locked" interface. They will need to be a local administrator to
"free" the session by forcibly logging you off and thereby throwing you out.
This, however does not prevent them from taking over the remote session if
they have valid credentials (i.e. username and password) for that session.

Actually, you will only see then when Fast User Switching is disabled. If its enabled, the local user will get a notice that someone else is logged on remotely and asked if they want to proceed. The remote user will be kicked out if the local user answers yes.
