Restricting Main Memory Size

Hi,
Is it possible to restrict the avaiable memory to an application? We are interested in seeing the effect of memory on performance of our application.
Is so what are the possible methods or the best method to do so ?

You can temporarily add the /maxmem= switch to boot.ini

You can temporarily add the /maxmem= switch to boot.ini

THis doesn't seem to work for me, my system still reports 1G memory,
and the system monitor shows 754M free when I've added /maxmem=512 to
boot.ini
