Restricting Access

Is there a way to restrict the vpn access of clients who
have unpatched and/or infected machines?

I thought I read somewhere that a client machine could be
scanned to make sure that it was up to date on its
patches, that the client had an up-to-date antivirus
installed, and that it was not infected with a virus;
before being allowed into the business network from a
remote location. But I can't remember where I saw it.

If this is possible, either by configuring the Server or
with the use of a third party product, could you please
direct me to where I could find this information?
