Restrict Formatting Question

I have created a template that will be sent out to our company field team. They requested that I keep them consistent by restricting the formatting they are able to use in this template. I defined the appropriate styles, restricted the formatting, saved the document as a .dot file, and it works great...as long as it is opened in Word 2003. When a previous version of MS Word opens the document, the formatting is Not restricted... Help! Is there any way I can get the formatting restrictions to work regardless of which version of MS Word opens the document

No. This feature was new in Word 2003 and only Word 2003 supports it.

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. I guess I get to twist the IT Directors arm on Monday, and strongly suggest he moves everyone to the 2003 version of Word
