Restrict access to programs for kids

Phil

Hi,

I am considering to restrict time usage and program access to my kids.
The PC is used by two kids and myself.
Now I would like, if possible, to have the PC on, with me working normally,
but at the same time kids no access ( not to have to log as particular user,
since then when a kid is logged on, I wouldn't be able to rapidly type a text
I need or download data I need ( I partly "telework")
So thought of something that would lock eveything, but use for me access "as
admin" or as "power user" via passwords or using an USB key or something like
that to give me total access everytime. Something like a "super executor"
program for me, limited access for kids.

Is this feasible ? How ? Any instructions somewhere to achieve this ?

TIA for all answers !!

I have looked for programs, but they all rely on the "logged user" to
restrict-grant access. My PC is always on, when I'm at home.

TIA And Merry Christmas and nice Hollydays

This is one of the reasons Fast User Switching (FUS) exists. Start, Log
Off, Switch User.

Some applications, IIRC like pcAnwhere, do disable this.

Very much like using two user accounts and FUS.

If the system has only one account now, make another and test this; it'll
take only a few minutes and be free. Control Panel, Users.

I would suggest you consder a combination of Fast User Switching and a
program like NetNanny or CyberSitter. The time difference will be in
seconds.

Alternately, give the kids that PC and get a new one for yourself.
