I dont have a Windows XP disk. If I install a new (bigger) hard drive, can I
use my computer's original restore files to get Windows XP back up and
running?

In this question, please read "restore" as "recovery'. What I am trying to do
is to "recover" my system files after I install a new hard drive. The
computer manufacturer is sending me the recovery disk for the original
computer (with the original hard drive installed, of course).

The easiest method would be to use the cloning
tool that most disk manufacturers make available
freely on their web site.

You don's say what your computer manufacture is,,but I've always been able
to use the recovery disk with a new larger hard drive to restore the
O.E.M's system ...on a larger drive. You might want to take the older drive
out first..

jb..
