Restoring registry

My login for hotmail keeps looping back to the log-in page. I tried accepting
cookies, turned off pop-up blocker& every thing else suggested. Microsoft
live id suggested restoring my registry. I have xpsp2. I have modified the
sorce path to the cd/dvd drive, the Service Pack Source Path to
%windir%\ServicePackFiles, and WINDOWSNT\CurrentVersion to the cd\dvd drive
all suggested in support.microsoft, but it still won't restore. If anyone can
help with either problem I would appreciate it greatly

When I attempted the autostreamer it was downloaded & installed without
problem when I attempted to launch it told me i had the wrong operating
system. It says it works on xp sp2. When I attempted the second choice of
slipstreaming, when I tried to download the nlite internet explorer kept
telling me the page could not be found. When I attempted the third choice
when I typed in cd sp2 in the command line window as requested on the second
line I get the message "system cannot find path specified". It seems as
though I hit a brick wall every way I turn. Any suggestions?

-is your hotmailaccount maybe expired because you didn't use it for a while?
-have you entered accountname/password REALLY correct?
-have you tried to create a new hotmailaccount to see if it's working with
this
and then maybe works again with your original account?
