Restoring Registry

I need to restore the registry on a non-working installation of Windows 2000 Pro. Before I made the errors to the registry I backed up the entire registry to a temp.reg file using registry-export and clicked all. When I rebooted it got me to a blank screen and rebooted automatically. Since I couldn't get access to the drive (tried all F6 booting techniques...safe mode ...last known good config..repair from disc...etc..) I loaded a parallel copy of windows 2000 on the same drive to get access to the files. Does anyone know how to get the info from the temp.reg file to the proper place or places of the non-working installation of windows 2000 Pro so that I don't have to go through the nightmare of re-loading software, settings, hardware...etc.!!!! Thanks.
