To re-boot means to restart Windows. Most of us do that at least once every
day.You can't "reboot your hard drive." Do you mean that you reinstalled
Windows on the drive? Why? What virus? Reinstalling Windows because of a
virus is very seldom necessary and is almost always way overkill. It's much
easier to use anti-virus software to get rid of a virus.
Please help us to help you. What does "i am having problems" mean? What
happens when you try? If you get an error message, please quote it verbatim.

Also explain exactly what steps you took to reinstall Windows. Perhaps you
removed all the partitions on the drive when you did so.

Sorry i did mean reinstall windows only on the C partion my backup files were on D when i first booted up i was able to open these backup files but then when i updated the system with windows update. i was no longer able to open these .bkf files can you help. Thanks Dan
