restoring a message

When a message has been downloaded, but not deleted from the server, how can
be marked as UNread, to be downloaded in Windows Live Mail once again?
To accomplish this perhaps the file that keeps track of the read messages
can be deleted. What is the name of that file, please?

The simplest way to do this is to create a new mail account with the same
settings as the old one, then delete the old account.
