Restored system and lost all configurations

On 01/04/07 I restored my system and it deleted all my backup files.
As a result I lost all configurations, dial-up service, audio sound and the
HP Director. The system now won't allow me to e-mail my registration.

My original isp was Verizon but now since the system recovery it will not
allow a new connection due to a modem problem. Truly, I am at a lost. Can
anyone please advise?

What do you mean by "...I restored my system ..." - if you used the System
Restore utility via system tools the result should not have been as you
state.
However by "restored my system" you used the recovery capability provided by
the computer manufacturer then the computer is "restored" to the condition
it was when purchased - any changes and/or installations performed afterward
are gone.

What does that mean? Exactly what did you do? Why did you do it?

E-mail what registration?

In the Subject line, you said "Restored." Now you say "recovery." These are
two different things. Again, exactly what did you do? If you used the OEM
manufacturer's recovery CD, what that did is wipe out everything on your
drive and put the system back to the way it was on the day it was first
delivered.

Maybe. But give us some information to work with.
