Restore Windows Files - Scannow Not Working

I tried using the sfc /scannow utility but ran into an error. I keep
getting a message stating: "Files that are required for Windows to run
properly must be copied to the DLL Cache." Under the"More Info" button
it lists the possible reasons as: 1) wrong windows CD inserted (I only have
one and have sued it before), and 2) the CD-ROM drive is your system is not
functioning. The drive works for everything else.

Is there anyway to fix this??

Thanks,
Dave Lamar

Have you got 2 cd roms? on mine it kept asking for xp pro cd, but i have home. this changed by using the 2nd cd rom. If you have a second cd rom try sfc /scannow with the disk in it. worked for me, but cannot garantee thayt it will work again
good luck!
