Restore will not work no matter which Dates i pick

I want to restore my computer to before i downloaded
wmp9.I want to try and get my old media player back.No
mater what dates i pick it says restore incomplete.It
will only go back to Oct 1st.Ive done restore before with
no trouble.

It's happened to many, myself included.
