Can reload windows XP

Can i reload xp.All i want is my old media player back.It
wont let me restore to any points after i loaded wmp9 and
im having trouble burning cds.Will i lose all my music
files if i do this.And how do uninstall xp.

I have a HP Pc and all I have to do is open HP Tools and
on the drop down menu select Application Recovery(which I
know all of this sounds scary)and install from menu any
ORIGIAL SOFTWARE PROGRAM.

As for loosing music I would simply copy those files to
another folder that isn't affected by WMP9...
