restore user account after accidental modification by rebooting PC

Dear Gentlemen:

Couple of months ago, I located a Microsoft software that can restore user
account back to original state when there was a virus or other accidental
changes. I tried looking for this software but could not find it.

Much help is appreciated.

I am not aware of any software - from Microsoft or anyone else - that
can restore a Windows XP user account to its default settings without
changing anything else on the computer.

Instead, create a new user account, which will embody the default
Windows XP user account settings (presuming that you have not made any
changes to the Default user.) Then transfer all the documents, pictures,
Favorites, etc. from the old account to the new.
