Restore Problem

Sam

Hi.
I try to explain my problem very quickly:

Previously, my HDD (140GB) had 2 partitions:
- FIRS PARTITION - Windows Server 2008 (100GB)
- SECOND PARTITION - Windows XP (40GB)

1. I made an image backup of Windows XP partition (using Macrium Reflect
free edition: I used it for vista and it worked well).
2. I formatted entirely my Hdd and I joined both partitions in only one
(140GB)
3. I restored Windows XP Partition Image (I have to put manually
MBR,ntrld, boot.ini and ntdetect.com in order to boot it correctly)
4. Windows Xp starts but at logon it stops running.

N.B. I used notebook so there are NO hardware differences.
Only one difference is partition size but Macrium Reflect should restore win
XP on a partition with different size from original.
I activated my license...i cannot reactivate it anymore. I, also, have
configured it with work software.

How can I solve the problem?
Thanks.

Sam, on the old configuration WinXP was on the D: partition. You then
fdisked or combined both partitions into one. Now the
C: drive. You restored the image of XP from D: to C: All the paths
are referenced to D: That might have something to do with your problem.
