restore points wipe out

on xp how do I clear all restore points and start fresh.
I've had too many problems with my computer over the past
couple of months and after having it finally working ok I
don't want memories of any bad files, please help

Right-click 'My computer', click Properties, select System Restore tab,
check the box before 'Turn off System Restore'
When you restart your system, Windows will trash the copies of all restore
points.
Enable it again by doing the above steps then uncheck the box before 'Turn
off System Restore"
