Restore invisible Quick Launch

Last night, my computer suddenly shut down without warning. when it came back
up, the quick launch bar was gone. I have confirmed it is selected in
taskbar properties, but no icons appear there, and there is no button to view
the items I keep in Quick Launch. I have just had to recreate the items I
typically keep there but as I had several customized items, this has taken
some time. Is there a tool to back up one's quick launch items?

C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

And you may have some in this folder too.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Quick Launch
