Quick Launch

The Quick Launch bar has gone!?! i uninstalled a server monitering program
from my comp (all seeing eye) for which there was a icon in the quick launch
bar, and where as usually when you do this it simply leaves the old (useless)
shortcut there it has closed the quick launch and nothing i do can get it
back!!

I have tried all the normal things like right clicking on the task bar and
going to toolbars and then quick launch, but this doesnt work. Also when it
is supposedly on and i unlock the taskbar the thing that you drag to extend
the size of the quick launch is not there,

Basically im after ideas! please help!!!

Start>Run>Regedit>Ok
now navigate to the following:-
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
In the right-pane, change the value of Userinit to
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,"
[copy paste it including comma but excluding the quotes]

Close the registry editor and reboot.

Thanks for the idea but when i opened the registry the change that you
suggested was already there, ie it already said
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,". So it appears that that isnt the
problem, anybody got any other suggestions???
