restore down and program disapears

I'm having a problem in XP. I have restored down a
program, because I want to resize the program window, and
it restores down to outside the viewable windows area. I
can maximise it to get it full screen just fine, but when
I restore down the program, it's like i;ve minimised it?
any solutions? - quite urgent

The program *might* be designed to work this way. I have a few that work
full screen or minimized to taskbar only. One of the programs has a
preference menu that includes various window display choices. Using that
menu I can add back the "normal" size window as a choice.

If it's just a goofed up window that you're dealing with, there are two
methods that I can think of that might help:

-- Right click the taskbar and choose Cascade Windows. This should force
the program's window dimensions to reset.

-- If you can see any portion of the window (a small square of the title
bar for example), right click the program's taskbar button and choose
Resize. Use the arrow keys on your taskbar to enlarge the window. Once
it is large enough that you can see four edges, may want to switch to
using your mouse to finish the resizing.
