Are you on Vista? If so, run Outlook as Administrator and try
restoring again.

I am the only account on this computer, so I don't know what you mean by
"running outlook as administrator", this is clearly a Vista problem, as I did
not have this problem when I was in XP.

Find Outlook.exe in Windows Explorer. Right-click on it, select menu
item Run as Administrator.

I am trying to restore a database to my laptop. I took my database (of which
I am the owner) and restored it onto a desktop. I worked off of that for
several days and backed it up in order to transfer the file and restore the
database back to my laptop. When I try to restore on the laptop I receive
this error message. I had no problem restoring the original file onto my
desktop. However, I cannot take that updated file and load it back on to the
laptop. Please help!

Thanks.

Probably a permissios problem. Any indication from the error message?

Are both machines on a domain and you use the same domain\user to
logon to both? Or do you have sepearte username/password pairs on the
two machines?

Did you try running Outlook as Admin?

Error message says "Cannot restore this database because you are not the
owner of the database."

I have separate username/passwords for each machine.

Yes, I tried running Outlook as admin on both machines, and still got the
same result.
