Restore an image from Ide hd to Raid 1

e.g.

My pc has a mb with an in-built Raid Promise controller, I have intention to
install two Sata hd and create a Raid 1.
I have saved an image of Windows Xp pro, applications and personal files, on
an Ide hd. I wonder if I could restore the image from the Ide hd on the
Raid, once configured, or I must start with a fresh installation of Windows.
Thanks for any advice.

The safest way to do this is restoring the image into just one of the SATA
HDs and then rebuilding the RAID-1 Array by mirroring one SATA HD to the
other. I'm assuming of course, that your old installation already had the
Windows RAID controller driver installed, otherwise you may bery well get
the BSOD when trying to boot your array.

I'm also assuming of course, you created the image with DriveImage or Ghost.
If you didn't, the process could be a little trickier.
