restore a server email account in Outlook 2003 off line

In re organizing my email accounts I deleted my MS exchange server email
account since this PC is no longer on the network. Little did I know this
would take out everything of importance in Outlook 2003, contacts, calendar,
tasks. I have tried importing the archive file to an existing account or a
new account, POP3s. but I can't create a server account since I am not on a
server any longer. Any ideas on retrieving my data.

I think, unless you had setup archiving or offline folders, the only place
that data resides is on that exchange server.. if perchance your account is
still on that exchange server you could plead to gain access....if it has
been deleted.....doing restores on exxchnge servrs (depending on the version
of exchange) may not be possible due to having to restore the entire mailbox
store ( all users mailboxes get restored ) new versions may have the ablility
to restore a isingle users mailbox..... you could search your local machine
for a *.ost or *.pst file if you find one of those , you may atually
have a local copy or partial copy of some of your mailbox data folders

Do you have a backup of your Windows registry that you can use to restore that mail profile?

Actually, the data must be, or was, on my local computer. I had been
accessing, changing, and adding to the data since this PC has been off the
network. I found a couple different pst files, but as I try to open them I
don't get any data. I'm wondering if the data needs to be opened in the
original email account with exchange server properties versus my POP3 email
accounts.

Then, your only recourse is to locate and purchase (possibly for $$$) a tool to hack the security on the .ost file so that it can be accessed as a regular .pst file would. I don't track such applications, but you should be able to find one with your favorite search engine.

Thank you for your response.
I had been able to bring up an archived .pst file.
It shows old tasks and old calendar items, but my old personal contact file
and the old business contact file do not show.
The screen reads there are no contacts.
Is this data in the .ost file?
I have located old .ost files, but, as you imply, I can't figure out how to
get into these files.
Also, what phrase would you suggest for searching for the .ost hack
applications?
