I was trying to install a program and requires me to
restart. It restarted and after the windows 2000 startup
screen there is a blue screen that pops up very quickly
and it says something about physical memory and then it
restarts again. This is like a continuous loop that will
not stop!
I have alot of info on the machine. Is this a registry
problem?
Please advise on how to solve this problem!

Try removing memory chips, clean off contacts ( use a
erase), and replace chips in a diffrent order. You
probably have bad memory or contact currosion

I had that or a similar problem several times.

To get the server back up, I ran chkdsk with the option to
repair (don't recall how, chkdsk /?) and the server was
able to boot.

For me, the problem was Veritas BackupExec's tape drivers
for a Sony SDXsomething (ait) tape drive. Eventually, the
above procedure stopped working and I had to reload the
server. When I did, the first time I booted after
installing the Veritas drivers I had the blue
screen/reboot loop. I started over and never loaded the
Veritas drivers and have not had a problem since.
